  7. 4 Play is a Windows version of the classic Connect 4 (TM) game.
  8. See on line help for details of how to play.

  10. Installation instructions.

  13. You should have the following files:
  14.  
  15.     4PLAY.EXE       (The windows executable)
  16.     4PLAY.HLP       (The windows help file)
  17.     README.TXT      (This file)
  18.     REGFORM.TXT     (The registration form)
  19.     BWCC.DLL        (The Borland Custom Control Library, used by 4PLAY)

  21. 1) Copy BWCC.DLL to your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.
  22.  
  23. Note. the above step is unnecessary if you already have a more recent copy
  24. of BWCC.DLL in your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory, check first.
  25.  
  26. 2) Copy all other files to a directory on your hard disk.
  27. eg. \GAMES\WINGAMES\4PLAY
  28.  
  29. 3) Run 4PLAY.EXE in the usual way.

  33. N.B. This is maintenance release, no major features have been added but
  34. several important improvements/bug fixes have been made.
  35.  
  36. -> Computer now thinks faster (slightly!)
  37.  
  38. -> Game Over message no longer obscures the board.

  40. -> Problems with resolutions that use a large system font fixed.
  41.  
  42. -> Now only lets you run one copy of 4PLAY at a time.
  43.    (There was a problem with running multiple copies before)

  53. This means that you are free to distribute only unaltered and complete copies 
  54. of the program (i.e. ALL files MUST be included with any distribution of 
  55. 4 Play).

  57. You may use 4 Play free for up to 30 days. If you want to keep it
  58. after 30 days you must register your copy. The easiest way to do this is by 
  59. printing out and filling in the Registration Form (see file REGFORM.TXT) and 
  60. sending it with a cheque for 5.00 pounds (or equivalent in your local
  61. currency) to the address below.

  63. NOTE. This copy of 4 PLAY is full and complete, unlike a lot of shareware
  64. that is distributed with certain features disabled and/or annoying shareware 
  65. reminder screens. I have decided to distribute a 'clean' version because I
  66. know how annoying reminder screens are. However this does mean that there is 
  67. little incentive to register, as you will not receive anything if you do so. 
  68. I am (foolishly) relying on peoples consciences!

  70. Please try to make the effort to register. Doing so will encourage me improve 
  71. 4 Play and to produce more quality Windows products (suggestions welcome!).
